LONDON, December 2014 – German jewellery designer Carina Strebel has launched her extraordinary one-off gemstone jewellery creations, inspired by her love of colour and nature.
At an evening cocktail event in Belgravia, central London, on December 3, Carina spoke of her love of jewellery since she was a child growing up with her mother.
Carina, who studied fashion design in Milan and later gemmology in London, is launching herself as a designer of custom-made jewellery, featuring 18-carat rose gold with gorgeous natural colour stones.
Carina enjoys trips to Idar-Oberstein, Germany’s gemstone capital, where she chooses from selections of natural, untreated colour stones for her opulent designs.
“I get inspired by the shapes and colours and sizes,” she told Jewellery Outlook in an interview. “I love colours: colours make you happy or sad.”
Green is one of her favourite colours. Carina, who was dressed in green at the cocktail event, loves emeralds and looks forward to working with them.
“Green is the colour of hope,” she said.
Carina’s jewels reflect her love of nature, and include a delightful ladybird ring with tourmalines and sculptured ruby legs.
