“about J” luxury fair opens in Venice
VENICE, Italy, September 5, 2013 – “about J”, a luxury jewellery trade event organised by Vicenza Fair, opened in Venice, gathering some of Italy’s leading fine jewellers, international brands and senior retail buyers from around the world.
New exhibitors participated this year at the Hilton Molino Stucky, including high-profile UK luxury jeweller Stephen Webster, whose pieces have been worn by celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, Madonna and Beyoncé; and Sarah Ho of SHO Fine Jewellery, a rising London-based designer brand.

Buyers arrived from top-level luxury jewellery retailers in the Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and Dubai, India, the United States, Latin America and across Europe, notably UK and Eastern Europe.
More than 30 exhibitors, including Brazilian and German brands, showcased some of their best jewels.

Standout pieces at the show included a bejewelled peacock in coloured gemstones including rubies, sapphires and citrines, from Roberto Coin, as well as two serpent necklaces, both of them unique pieces.
Mattia Cielo presented avant-garde designs in titanium with diamonds and gold, and Sarah Ho showcased pieces from her new Paradis collection, inspired by birds of paradise.

At an inauguration ceremony, Paolo Mantovani, President of Vicenza Fair, presented a lifetime achievement award to Italian luxury jeweller Gianmaria Buccellati, honorary president of about J.
“I really appreciate this award which crowns a fruitful life dedicated to a job which I have loved,” Buccellati told the invited guests.“I will always keep it on my desk.”
