About J luxury jewellers report steady flow of orders
VENICE, Italy, September 6, 2013 – Luxury jewellers exhibiting at the about J fair reported a steady flow of enquiries and orders from international retail buyers on the first full day of trading at the show.
UK luxury jeweller Stephen Webster, participating at about J for the first time, told Jewellery Outlook that he was pleased with the flow of business.
He reported orders from Russian buyers at about J and said he had received enquiries from potential new customers in the United States, Eastern Europe and South America.
Webster, whose pieces have been worn by celebrities such as Christina Aguilera and Madonna, said he hoped that about J would expand in future and become an increasingly international event.
A representative from Italian brand Roberto Coin reported a steady flow of enquiries and said she expected to refer potential orders to the brand’s prominent stand at VicenzaORO from September 7, where thousands of pieces would be available to view.
At about J Roberto Coin displayed two exceptional one-off precious serpent necklaces and a magnificent bejewelled peacock brooch featuring rubies, sapphires and citrines.
A representative at German brand Hellmuth, whose collections are inspired by crocodile designs, talked of enquiries and orders from buyers from the United States, Chile and Ukraine.
Among the UK exhibitors, Sarah Ho’s SHO Fine Jewellery, exhibiting at about J for the first time, reported strong enquiries and leads from Chinese buyers.
Rodney Rayner’s stand was packed with buyers throughout the day.
About J, taking place this year at the Hilton Molino Stucky, a former flour mill that is now a huge hotel, runs until September 7, 2013.
