APPOINTMENTS – American Jewelry Design Council elects Alan Revere as president

The American Jewelry Design Council has elected Alan Revere to be its president for the coming year. AJDC is a nonprofit educational corporation, which is mandated to raise the awareness and appreciation of original fine jewelry. Membership is composed of respected and high-profile self-employed contemporary jewelry designers in America.

The Council elected Adam Neeley as Vice President, Merry-Lee Rae as Treasurer, and Jennifer Rabe Morin as Secretary. A longtime member of the organization, this will be Revere’s second time serving as president. He was also president in the early 2000’s.

“AJDC is on a roll right now,” says Revere. “Paul Klecka is stepping down after leading the group to a new level of engagement with the jewelry industry.

AJDC recently held its first national jewelry design contest. The AJDC Jose Hess Design Award was a huge success and drew over 90 entries. The contest was followed up by a red carpet event and cash prizes for the winners during a gala awards ceremony in Tucson. 
Alan Revere is widely known as an award-winning jewelry designer as well as Director of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco from 1979-2017.
He is a German-trained master goldsmith, designer, and author of seven books on jewelry. His Facebook Group, “LetsMakeProfessionalJewelry,” has 30,000 members in 162 countries, replicating the projects from his book, Professional Jewelry Making.
