Elvis gave the watch to Ms Marshall as a token of affection for her and she went on to wear it for many years.

The watch has remained in the ownership of Dodie Marshall and is being offered from her private estate. The timepiece has an estimate of US$4,000-6,000.

Elvis Presley was renowned for his love of watches and jewelry. Not only wearing them, he also liked to give them as gifts.

His preference seemed to be for gold, diamonds, and sapphires, and he was known to have gifted inscribed Baume & Mercier watches over the years to a select few.

The timepiece on offer is a great example, gifted ahead of his wedding to Priscilla in Vegas in 1967.

Founded in Geneva in 1918, Baume & Mercier were considered a prestigious and high-quality watch brand known for their craftsmanship and luxury and in the 1960s, were highly sought after timepieces.

Dodie Marshall is an American actress who grew up in the USA where she took singing and acting lessons before heading to Hollywood where she appeared in front of the camera for the first time in 1964.

She went on to appear in film and television productions between 1964 and 1967, including the Paramount Pictures musical comedy film Easy Come, Easy Go (1967) where Dodie Marshall played Elvis’s love interest Jo Symington, as well as Spinout (1966) and The Man from U.N.C.L.E (1964).
