PARIS – Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr presented its dedicated 174-lot Paris Jewels live sale on October 23, 2024, which achieved strong results. One of the top lots was a rare and magnificent Cartier coral, mother-of-pearl, and enamel jewelled desk clock, circa 1930. Designed as a screen clock with mother-of-pearl dial, diamond-set Roman numeral hands and a diamond fan hour hand. The clock face is surrounded with coral bands outlined in black enamel, mounted on an onyx base, gold enamel with semi-circular onyx side supports. The clock sold for €152,800.

“It was a pleasure to see the sale deliver fierce bidding and strong results for the rare Cartier Art Deco jewelled desk clock and exceptional 17.19 carat diamond solitaire ring. It was a pleasure to bring both to auction and see them sell so successfully. Overall, the sale totalled €1,825,834.”
Another notable lot was an exceptional diamond solitaire ring. Claw-set to the centre with a brilliant-cut diamond of VSI clarity, weighing 17.19 carats, the ring sold for €140,100 with an original estimate of €80,000-120,000.
Other notable lots included:
- A ruby and diamond necklace with a drop-shaped pendant, set with an oval-cut ruby of Burmese origin, weighing 8.17 carats, surrounded by brilliant and tapered baguette-cut diamonds. The necklace links are decorated with oval-cut rubies and radiant-cut diamonds. The necklace sold for €129,940.
- A sapphire and diamond ring, claw-set with an oval-cut sapphire of Sri Lankan origin, weighing 9.75 carats, set between shoulders set with princess-cut diamonds. The ring sold for €89,300.
