LONDON – AstaGuru, one of India’s leading auction houses, has announced its expansion into the United Kingdom, with plans to stage online sales in luxury goods from art to jewellery.
Headquartered in London, the new entity, AstaGuru UK, marks a significant milestone in the house’s global strategy to connect international collectors with exceptional fine art and collectibles.
The UK operations will be led by Managing Director Laryssa Jesse (pictured), an experienced leader in the luxury sector.
Strengthening its specialist departments, AstaGuru has appointed Kristian Spofforth, formerly head of Sotheby’s London Jewellery department, to head the Jewellery division.
Spofforth, a renowned expert, brings unparalleled knowledge of rare gemstones and period jewels.
The Timepieces department will be headed by specialists Charlie Foxhall and Tim Bourne, ensuring a world-class curation of horological masterpieces for the British market.
