PARIS – Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr presented its Paris Jewels sale on 24 April. The top lot was an exceptional diamond necklace, circa 1840, featuring a link chain designed as a stylised bow, suspending two Taveez diamonds most probably of Indian origin, dating back to the 17th or 18th century. The necklace sold for €89,300, more than its pre-sale estimate of €50,000-70,000.
The 121-lot sale featured a spectacular selection of jewellery including an impressive single-owner collection of striking Chaumet jewels featuring designs across the decades from Art Deco to the 1970s, presented alongside exquisite jewellery of diamonds, coloured diamonds and coloured gemstones including emeralds, rubies and sapphires from notable houses including Cartier, Boucheron, Buccelatti, Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels.

We are delighted with the result of the sale that reflects the exceptional pieces on offer.”
Another highlight was a Chaumet Art Deco ruby and diamond bracelet, of geometric design, composed of a series of articulated rectangular shaped links set throughout with single-cut diamonds alternating with motifs set with calibré-cut rubies. The spectacular bracelet sold for €51,200 against a pre-sale estimate of €10,000-15,000.
