GENEVA – Diamond bracelets once owned by Marie-Antoinette fetched $8.2 million at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva on November 9, 2021, more than double their $2-4 million estimate, reflecting the enduring fascination with the last Queen of France.

The jewels, made by Boehmer in 1776, and passed through the family by descent for 250 years, made the second highest price for a jewel owned by Marie-Antoinette.

“A very dynamic saleroom coupled with strong online and telephone bids from around the world, resulted in lively bidding and a very high sell-through rate of 93 percent by lot. Marie-Antoinette’s Diamonds captured the world’s attention and achieved a fitting result for such a magnificent Royal Jewel!” said Rahul Kadakia, International Head of Christie’s Jewellery.
