Led by a Fancy Intense Pink Diamond Ring Which Sold for CHF 11.9 Million
and Jewels by Fred, Sterlé, and Van Cleef & Arpels Soaring Above Estimate
Benoît Repellin, Phillips’ Worldwide Head of Jewellery, said, “We are thrilled with the results of Phillips’ inaugural jewellery sale in Geneva (on November 6, 2023), marking another milestone in the expansion of our Jewels department worldwide. The Geneva Jewels Auction: ONE showcased an extraordinary array of treasures, headlined by a mesmerising fancy intense pink diamond of 20.19 carats, which fetched CHF 11.9 million. This remarkable gem ranks as the fourth largest fancy intense pink diamond ever to grace an auction. Coloured diamonds saw competitive bidding, as well as colourless diamonds, with the superb 15.60 carat D VS2 Type IIa oval diamond selling for CHF 890,000, almost double its low estimate.

Repellin added, “The allure of signed jewels exuding timeless elegance resonated profoundly with collectors, with highlights including Sterlé’s natural pearl and diamond earrings and an iconic Bulgari ‘Monete’ demi-parure, both leaving collectors captivated. The undeniable appeal of unheated sapphires garnered significant interest. We also saw notable demand for distinguished pieces from iconic houses such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming New York Jewels Auction on December 13th.”
