LOS ANGELES – A significant Ruser platinum, sapphire and diamond ring stole the show at the Bonhams California Jewels sale in Los Angeles on September 19, 2023.
The ring featuring an octagonal step-cut sapphire of Sri Lankan origin, weighing 21.15 carats, framed by round diamonds weighing 3.00 carats with additional round diamonds along the shank, surpassed its top lot estimate by four times to achieve $127,500.

An Art Deco J.E. Caldwell & Co. platinum, ruby and diamond ring, circa 1920, exceeded its top lot estimate by over seven times to achieve $47,360 while a J.E. Caldwell & Co. fancy intense yellow diamond and diamond ring, circa 1940, set in platinum, surpassed its top lot estimate by over three times to achieve $108,450.
The 308-lot sale made a total of US$1,540,552 with 72% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
