Autumn/Winter 2015 and Spring 2016 Trends at IJL 2015

Visitors to International Jewellery London 2015, the UK’s premier jewellery show, will be treated to an in depth preview of the very latest jewellery trends for Autumn/Winter 2015 and Spring 2016.
The catwalk shows will highlight the key looks forecast by trend partner Adorn Insight, whilst an informative and thought provoking seminar programme will highlight the new directions and trends in innovative jewellery design. In addition, more than 530 exhibitors will be showcasing their take on the key looks for this Christmas and the forthcoming 2016 seasons.
“A hothouse of the most creative and talented jewellery designers and manufacturers will showcase their new collections at IJL 2015, many of which will feature on the Catwalk daily. Pair this with cutting edge industry trend advice at the seminars and you have a ‘must visit’ event for retailers,” said Sam Willoughby, Event Director.
THE CATWALK
Perfectly timed for the Spring buy, the daily catwalk shows will highlight four distinct trends, showcasing the most stunning on-trend pieces to be found at the show. The catwalk will take place at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm every day, with an additional show at the Late Night Shopping evening on Sunday 6th September at 6.00pm, featuring an unique ‘Diamond Blaze’ scene, exclusively curated to celebrate IJL’s 60th Diamond Jubilee Edition.
THE TRENDS
The Autumn/Winter 2015 and 2016 jewellery trends Adorn Insight have identified as especially key to the sector are: Victoriana Punk, Seventies, Geo-Form, Floral Fancy and Diamond Blaze and are illustrated below by some of the designers and brands at this year’s show.
Victoriana Punk
Imagine equal parts of Victorian governess, vampish goth and punk, with pieces featuring overlapping and articulated sections constructed from leather, blackened metals and darkened crystals, and components which have a ‘hardware feel’, like buckles, rivets, bolts and chains.

Seventies
It’s all about movement and swing as the 1970’s look is inspiring the season trends! Statement pieces feature segmented elements, curtains of fine gauge chain, molten-look metals and silhouettes. Gems look best in chunky or rough cuts and imperfections such as bands and inclusions add visual appeal.

Geo-Form
Adopt hard-edged sensibility, geometric shapes, colour blocking and cut outs. Think the highly commercial, timelessly chic orb. Add a fresh touch to this much loved icon by mixing and matching sizes, combining different colours, graduating sizes or arranging in random clusters.

Floral Fancy
Big, bold blooms burst in a riot of colour, and texture with acid green orchids and supersized irises. Create an impression of volume, with gently rippling edges and undulating surfaces, perfect for leaf and petal-based looks. Explore colour in the form of pavé gemstones in graduated hues, enamel embellishment, mixed golds and even colourful titanium flourishes.

Diamond Blaze
Have fun with vintage-inspired looks in an explosion of gem encrusted dangles, drops and decorative motifs. Craft based techniques such as filigree, granulation as well as richly hued gemstones in unusual settings and arrangements add wow factor to classic silhouettes. Add a contemporary flourish by playing with scale.
