Award winning jewellery designers star at IJL 2015
LONDON, August 7, 2015 – The exclusive Designer Brands area at IJL 2015, Olympia GRAND (September 6-8), will feature a superb group of award-winning designers.
With a focus on fine and contemporary jewellery, these designers will be launching their new collections, as well as showcasing signature pieces.
Sam Willoughby, IJL Event Director, said: “The Designer Brands collections at this year’s show present the best in fine and contemporary design to be found at any show in the UK. We are especially proud of the international line-up of global creativity, and the fact that many newly-established designers are showcasing alongside established names who in two cases have a history of 20 years of showing at IJL – a truly eclectic and exciting mix.”
The Designer Brands at this year‘s IJL feature:
Award-winning designer Alexis Dove will be showcasing her stunning new collection of precious jewellery which will include handmade rings with a range of unusual gemstones, such as snowflake, cinnamon and rose-cut diamonds. Inspired by nature and antique curiosities, each piece features her signature style of organic, hand- beaten gold. She will also launch Paradise, a tropical collection with parrot, toucan and tropical foliage motifs, reflecting the influence of a recent trip to the Victorian Palm House at Kew Gardens.
Alexis Dove says: “Alexis Dove jewellery has a long relationship with IJL, with this being our seventh year at the show. This year is particularly exciting as we will be debuting our new precious collections to the trade, as well as some exciting new silver collections.”
Anne Cohen is the designer behind the award-winning contemporary Danish jewellery brand – C6 by Anne Cohen. Each perfectly crafted piece unites graphite in two contrasting forms: The hardest naturally-occurring substance, diamonds, with the softest graphite carbon, in one sublime moment. At IJL 2015 they will showcase their masterpiece ‘Supernova Special’ nominated for the German Design Award, together with the core C6 Origin Collection.

Not only is its timing crucial, but it allows everyone to gather in the heart of the capital and plan for what promises to be a very active and profitable winter. 2015 will go down as a year that saw dramatic change within the industry, and nothing stands out more than C6 by Anne Cohen.”
British jewellery design duo Dower & Hall this year celebrate 25 years in business and 20 years at IJL. New collections to be launched will include Cherish…What’s Inside – their Editor’s Choice award-winning 25th anniversary collection of Lockets and Treasure. These include limited edition discs to go inside the lockets, alongside the personalised collection Cherish…The Moment, with a fantastic array of pick ‘n’ mix jewellery that comes with free engraving.
Designers Dan Dower and Diane Hall explain: “As an independent designer brand, it’s very important for us to exhibit in the Designer Brands section of IJL. Not only are we alongside our contemporaries, but this special location attracts exactly the style of retailer and buyer for the type of product and service we offer.”
Sheila Fleet OBE designs and creates her jewellery in her Workshop by the sea on Orkney in the Northern Isles, surrounded by the sound of the Scotland’s wind, rain and sea. Nature’s music and the renowned orchestras and musicians of Orkney’s famous St. Magnus Festival have inspired Sheila to create “Symphony”. This new collection in sterling silver and Viennese Blue enamel echoes the movement, harmony and balance of music in its infinite forms and moods.

Andrew Geoghegan is an award-winning British design house synonymous with exquisitely crafted fine jewellery. Inspired and intrigued by people, unities and naturally beautiful objects & materials, Andrew Geoghegan brings these observations together in modern, expression pieces that seduce and endure. AG recognises that for many, it’s not about wanting to be ‘someone else’ or the adherence to a prescribed set of cultural or social values and norms, but more about being able to achieve one’s own picture of ‘perfectly beautiful’. The AG brand will be re-launched at IJL 2015 with the presentation of new collection pieces and the Cannelé Chocolate Diamond in Rose Gold – the Ring of Choice. Sarah Jordan, who recently celebrated 25 years in business, has won many prestigious awards along the way. Sarah’s greatest passion remains the design, concept and making of jewellery. Every single piece of the thousands created over the years originates from a ‘first master’ she has hand-crafted. At IJL 2015 she will be launching the elegant and luxurious ‘Paveena Precious’ collection – free -flowing graceful designs in 18ct yellow gold with diamonds – along with the ‘Barley’ natural, organic-inspired designs in both silver and 18ct.
Sarah said: “IJL provides the ideal mix of designers, retailers and industry influencers in a creative and relaxed atmosphere. The show has the all the key ingredients necessary to launch new collections and receive honest feedback from the trade, network and build business.”
Award-winning, British-based jewellery designer Fei Liu creates dramatic jewellery which infuses his Eastern heritage with Western design skills and tradition. The essence of Fei Liu Fine Jewellery is of great drama and elegance, entwined with intricate details. At this year’s show, Fei will launch a stunning collection which is an exciting new marriage of two materials – silver and high-intensity ceramic, with the option of white, pink or black cubic zirconia.
Mother and daughters trio, artists and designers Michele, Sophie and creative director, Marisa, make up Missoma. Their collections feature natural semi-precious gemstones hand-sourced for their cut, depth of colour and quality. Often featuring intricate fretwork, the designs are organic, often asymmetric and inspired by nature, architecture and graphics. Missoma will be launching their new ‘ear jackets’ at IJL 2015.
Marisa Hordern says: “IJL is always the best place to showcase our new collections for Christmas to UK jewellery retailers; it is the meeting place for the jewellery industry and optimises our key selling period.”
German-based Tezer creates eye-catching, hand-made sterling silver jewellery. The stylish and minimalist collections are designed for the forward-thinking, discerning woman and include a comprehensive range of stunning necklaces, bracelets, pendants and earrings.
Designer and Managing Director, Sema Sezen explains: “IJL is the only show we are exhibiting at in the UK because it is the prime moment in the year to have direct contact, face to face, with our customers and also meet new ones. For us it is both a trade show and a social event, because we regard personal contact as the most important element on our sales and marketing agenda.”
Established British designer Babette Wasserman always delivers luxury, stylish elegance and freshness. In her new collections for 2015 she has taken a leaf out of nature’s delicate patterns and cleverly interpreted them into a range of chic and edgy contemporary jewellery. Familiar items of the natural world, such as flowers and flames, have been translated into inspirational and desirable 3-dimensional jewels – infused with Babette’s unique design approach and attitude to style. The brand new Rose collection of matching necklace, earring studs and large rings, features curvaceous contours in an opulent layered floral design.
Collette Waudby is the current BJA Jewellery Designer of the Year and has a 20-year history of exhibiting at IJL. For her, IJL has become the pinnacle moment of the year when all her new work is unveiled. 2015 will see new products launched to complement her very established ranges like Mavilo, alongside a second wave of pieces to extend the newer Dreki collection. There will also be a new range of bespoke display and packaging options to endorse the brand.
