Our services include resizing (for rings, bracelets, and necklaces), chain and clasp repairs, gemstone resetting and claw retipping, and general refurbishing to restore each piece to its original lustre. For items like chains, we use specialized machine polishing, and for pieces with gemstones, we hand-polish each one to maintain the integrity and sharpness of the original design.

Alf, our master goldsmith, has over 40 years of experience specializing in restoring rings and other jewellery to their original form. I have 15 years in the trade, and together, our team brings a wealth of knowledge to each piece. We already work with numerous jewellery shops across the UK, including the pawnbroker Mallards, who value the personal touch we provide, staying in close communication with our clients to ensure their needs are met.
Our typical turnaround time is around two weeks, though most pieces are completed within a week. We prioritize quality in every restoration and maintain open communications in the rare cases where extended timelines are needed.

We cover nearly every type of repair, from ring resizing and gemstone resetting to chain repairs and clasp replacements. One specialty our clients appreciate is our unique approach to tennis bracelet repairs. Many jewellers choose to solder broken links, which limits the bracelet’s flexibility. However, using Alf’s expertise, we repair the links while maintaining the bracelet’s original, free-flowing design, which is something our clients particularly value.
What bespoke services do you offer?
Bespoke jewellery design is a core focus at A.P. Marley. Many clients come to us with old family jewellery they want to repurpose, and we help them transform these pieces while retaining sentimental elements, such as using the original shank and hallmark in a new pendant design. With my background in CAD design, we can bring any concept to life.
For clients who prefer a preview, we offer a draft 3D service where we create a mock-up in resin for them to try on. This helps clients visualize the design and make adjustments before we cast it in metal, which is a more cost-effective stage for revisions.
One notable project was a custom wolf ring inspired by an image the client provided. By creating a 3D draft, we allowed the client to see the details before finalizing, ensuring the piece met their vision.
