Carrera y Carrera unveils Universo collection at Baselworld
BASEL, March 22 2015 – Spanish brand Carrera y Carrera unveiled its Universo collection at Baselworld, inspired by a fabulous journey long ago.
“During a stroll in Madrid, in a tiny old second-hand bookstore located in the historic Barrio de las Letras (the Writers’ quarter), our designers found an old travel diary entitled ‘UNIVERSO’ (Universe),” Carrera y Carrera said.
“Inspired by this, our designers have transformed the memories of that long-ago adventurer into a new collection from Carrera y Carrera, ‘Universo.’”
Universo has four lines: ORIGEN, ALEGORÍA, SAVIA, and PRISMA.
ORIGEN reflects fire, with gold crafted into flames and wrapped around glorious amethyst and prasiolite stones.

ALEGORIA features layered butterfly designs that are on-trend, feminine and in motion.

As well as presenting Universo, the Carrera y Carrera stand at Baselworld celebrated 130 years of extraordinary craftsmanship, presenting outstanding “objets d’art” created by the house, including an eagle seizing a snake, and elegant ladies from the Art Deco era, fashioned in pearls and precious materials.
