Catherine Jones of Cambridge donates platinum and diamond ring for charity auction
November 2013 – Catherine Jones of Cambridge has announced it is donating a platinum and diamond ’Catherine ring’ for auction by EACH – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices – to help raise money for their charity and to mark the Golden Jubilee, the company’s 50th year in business.
Vanessa Burkitt, MD of Catherine Jones of Cambridge said, “We wanted to support one charity besides our own Catherine Jones Foundation in our Jubilee year, and a local, medical charity for children is an obvious choice. The work that EACH does, is remarkable and humbling.”
Catherine herself was a nurse during the war and she was married to a doctor. “Medical matters fascinated her,” said Vanessa Burkitt, “and she had an extraordinary instinct for helping and nurturing people who needed care and support. She was very good at it. She would have been deeply affected by the work of EACH so it was an easy decision to make.”
EACH supports families, and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions. Their remarkable care teams support the children, their parents and siblings, helping them to make the most of life while facing the difficult emotional and physical challenges these harrowing conditions can bring. They provide care and support wherever the family wishes, whether at home, in the community, by providing emergency 24-hour telephone support, or in one of the three hospices EACH runs in East Anglia.
Catherine Jones of Cambridge has donated a Catherine ring which is inspired by Catherine’s own engagement ring. It is a charming piece, unique to the company and made in platinum and diamonds.
