CMJ sells FACETS PR agency to Sarah Carpin
October 2017 – CMJ subsidiary PR business FACETS PR has been sold to FACETS PR Managing Director Sarah Carpin, who will henceforth run the agency as a private limited company.
FACETS PR, previously trading as CMJ Media, was launched as a specialist jewellery and watch PR and marketing agency by CMJ in 2011, under the leadership of Sarah Carpin. The new limited company, Facets Communications Ltd, will continue to trade as FACETS PR from its offices in London.
Sarah Carpin was offered the opportunity to purchase the business from CMJ, as part of the Group’s restructuring plans that focus on CMJ’s core business following a recent profitability review. “I am delighted to be able to take ownership of the agency I launched over six years ago,” said Carpin. “Together with my team of talented staff and shareholders, which include FACETS PR Head of PR Anna Chapman, we have exciting plans to scale up the agency with a wider client portfolio and to work within other international markets.”
FACETS PR will continue to work with CMJ to provide PR and publishing services to the UK jewellery buying group, including editorial services for CMJ’s quarterly magazine, Facets.
“FACETS PR has established itself as the go-to London agency for fine and fashion jewellery,” said Carpin. “We are uniquely placed within the jewellery industry to offer a wide range of marketing services to clients and we specialise in launching new brands into the UK.” The agency and its staff have won industry awards for its work, including The Professional Jeweller Hot 100, Retail Jeweller 30 under 30 and have been shortlisted at the UK Jewellery Awards for Marketing Campaign of the Year Award.
Commenting on behalf of CMJ Terry Boot, Interim CEO said, “We are happy with the decision to transfer the Facets PR business over to Sarah. The CMJ Retail Members were promised that all aspects of the company operations would be reviewed and the outcome is positive for all involved. CMJ will focus the services that Facets PR will provide, to benefit and add value to its retail members, whilst at the same time Facets PR will become an independent company. We wish Sarah Carpin and the team at Facets PR great success and look forward to continuing to work with them.”
FACETS PR services include PR, celebrity dressing, market research and B2B consultancy services, social media management and campaign work, media buying, contract publishing and event management. FACETS PR also presents its own jewellery showrooms during London Fashion Week and hosts an annual fine jewellery one day buying show in London, Couture at Claridges.
FACETS PR clients include Yoko London, Marco Bicego, Clogau, Sif Jakobs Jewellery, Hockley Mint, Chupi Jewellery, Green + Benz, JFW magazine and Alexis Dove Jewellery. From October, FACETS PR will additionally be representing Lyon and Turnbull auction house, Lilia’s Jewels in East Dulwich, Astra Jewellery and Phine London.
