MasterGraff Skeleton showcases diamond expertise
BASEL, Switzerland, April 3, 2011 – Graff has presented the limited edition, diamond-encrusted MasterGraff Skeleton tourbillon watch showcasing its diamond expertise.
The hand wound movement with 72 hour power reserve and tourbillon is housed within a 48 mm facetted case.
Comprising 164 diamonds, totalling over 21 carats, the movement can only be cased once all the diamonds are in place, and no adjustments can be made thereafter – to avoid any risk of damaging the diamonds.

“The perfect transparency created by the absence of a dial, along with the diamond case enclosed by sapphire crystals ensures breathtaking panoramic views of the subtle inner workings of the watch,” Graff said.
“Even winding becomes a show in its own right, since the effect of this operation on the barrels can be viewed in every subtle detail through the case-back.”
The MasterGraff Skeleton is issued in two limited series of just 10 each in rose or white gold – both fitted with a black alligator leather strap secured by an exclusive Graff folding clasp.
Retail price: $2 million.
As well as the MasterGraff Skeleton, Graff presented a number of new watches at BASELWORLD, including new additions to its dainty BabyGraff watches with colour stones, including emeralds, rubies and sapphires in a variety of cuts – trapeze, trilliant, triangle, brilliant, baguette and princess.
Each diamond on the bracelet of the BabyGraff One Carat Diamond Watch is one carat, with its own certificate from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

The dial is adorned with 99 fancy-shape diamonds, underscoring Graff’s gemsetting expertise and bringing the number of diamonds on this timepiece to 126, totalling 33 carats.
The ScubaGraff, a new diving watch for men, incorporates the mechanical self-winding Graff Calibre 2 movement exclusively designed, developed and built in Switzerland for Graff, and displays a 50-hour power reserve.
The back of the satin-finished white and rose gold versions have been expertly fire enamelled and all editions, including the black DLC are finely hand engraved with an octopus motif that is also reflected on the elaborate folding clasp of the strap.
The hands and hour markers are enhanced with luminor ensuring optimal readability, and a decompression valve on the case side and 30-minute countdown indicator help divers manage their remaining dive time.
The watch is guaranteed water-resistant to 300 metres (1,000 feet.)
The MasterGraff Minute Repeater Tourbillon features a flying tourbillon revealed through a dial opening at 6 o’clock encircled by a small seconds disc.

The minute repeater is triggered on demand by an upward push on a dedicated repeater slide positioned on the side of the case.
Two hammers striking two gongs sound the hours, quarter hours and minutes on low – high tones.
