Garrard presents Star & Garter collection
LONDON, November 20, 2011 – For winter 2011, Garrard presents the Star & Garter collection inspired by the broad and rich military heritage of this British jewellery house.
Badges and decorations that the brand has made over the centuries form a colourful ensemble of shapes and motifs on which to draw upon.
This rich source of craftsmanship has inspired a unique and modern-day Garrard jewellery collection: Star & Garter.
Star & Garter is the most expansive collection Garrard has introduced since Stephen Webster joined the brand as Creative Director in 2008. With over 40 pieces, the collection encompasses a wide array of designs that transcend history and time. From bold, statement regalia to delicate simple, daywear: emulating the numerous and varied ranks and insignia of the military liveries.
The signature design of the collection is the three star ring that spans across three fingers and features the three medal star motifs on which Star & Garter is based. A statement ring, linked by three rows of white gold chains – evoking the rich military history of the brand. Similarly, classic, simple set diamond rings embody the military motifs on a more delicate and feminine scale.
Another feminine portrayal of military grandeur: rings with simple, elegant beads of pearl or pink quartz sit in a pronounced setting and the earrings to complement, feature a delicate, white gold chain that emulates the aiguillette, an ornamental braided cord, worn on military and academic robes.
