Italian brand Marco Bicego celebrates London opening
LONDON, October 30, 2011 – Italian brand Marco Bicego has opened its first shop-in-shop exclusively in department store Harvey Nichols, in London and Birmingham.
The founder of the brand, Marco Bicego made a rare personal appearance at his concession at Harvey Nichols in London on October 26, and spoke of the importance of London as a shopping hub for a cosmopolitan and sophisticated international clientele.
Jaipur Link Collection
Marco Bicego offers a striking collection of contemporary, refined and couture jewellery, including 18-carat gold, diamonds and gemstones.
The collections are designed with the cosmopolitan woman in mind.
All Marco Bicego jewellery is made entirely by hand in Italy featuring precious stones and pearls.
Expert engraving techniques and a signature “hand-woven coil” design have become hallmarks, while an outstanding quality of workmanship is reflected throughout the range.
Jaipur Diamond Link Ring
The family-run business dates back to 1958 when Giuseppe Bicego founded a small artisan shop in the town of Trissino in the Vicenza region of Italy.
Now, more than 40 years later and with son Marco at the helm, the brand is known for innovation and luxury. Retail price points run from 500 pounds to 5,000 pounds.
Marco Bicego’s Jaipur collection is created using pure, colourful gemstones, each seemingly sculpted from light and accentuated by a brilliantly coloured prism cut, produced exclusively for Marco Bicego.

In keeping with Marco Bicego signature collections, the gold is strictly 18 carat, artfully chiselled by hand and rendered organically – natural yet contemporary.
Stones within the pieces include amethyst, lemon citrine, peridot, yellow quartz, blue topaz, rose and green tourmaline, green amethyst and champagne quartz.
Each stone originates from the Indian city of Jaipur, where expert stone cutting has been perfected over the ages.
A popular choice with all Marco Bicego’s customers, new and old, the Paradise collection consists of dazzling, whimsical and versatile designs.
The collection is a mix of delicate golden chains, tiny hand-engraved golden beads and colourful gems.
Shimmering rose and white quartz complement a delicate range of aqua blue and green semi-precious stones.
Marco Bicego found inspiration in the chromatic and crystalline reflections of sunlight while swimming in the Mediterranean waters of Sardinia.
LONDON – GLOBAL CITY
Speaking to Jewellery Outlook during his visit to Harvey Nichols, Marco Bicego said, “London is an international city, attracting shoppers from around the world including Arab countries, and Russia.
“Harvey Nichols is one of the most exclusive and important department stores in London.
“When we had the opportunity to open this concession, the cosmopolitan mix of the clientele appealed to us.”
Marco Bicego said that, as part of its international strategy, the brand would focus increasingly on the growth markets of Asia, notably China.
“2012 could be another year for opening boutiques,” he said.
