William & Son showcases 10th anniversary watch
LONDON, November 14, 2010 – Luxury goods emporium William & Son has unveiled an automatic 18 kt rose gold watch with a cabochon ruby winding crown, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal round face and 40-hour power reserve to mark its 10th anniversary, limited to 10 numbered pieces.
“We wanted a classic piece in modern dimensions that looked good, and we’re very happy with the result,” William & Son’s watches specalist Paul Westwater told Jewellery Outlook.William & Son stocks cufflinks with rubies that blend nicely with the watch to create a “dressed up look”, Westwater said.
“This is a watch to wear when all dressed up — a very classic look for maybe a black tie dinner, a special birthday meal, or a premiere. A watch like this is for a nice occasion.”
The watch has an adjustable black crocodile strap with an 18 kt rose gold buckle.
A buyer of the William & Son anniversary watch could be a collector who already owns a few watches and wishes to have a timepiece for a special occasion, Westwater said.
