De Beers rough diamond sales drop in fourth cycle year-on-year
GABORONE, BOTSWANA, May 2019 – De Beers Group’s rough diamond sales stood at $415 million in the fourth cycle of 2019, down from $581 million in the third cycle and $554 million in the fourth cycle of 2018.
“Cycle four saw lower rough diamond sales against a backdrop of macroeconomic uncertainty, and as we enter a seasonally slower period for the industry with Indian factories closing temporarily for the traditional holiday period,” said Bruce Cleaver, CEO, De Beers Group.
