Exquisite diamond ring outperforms at Bonhams New York Jewels sale

After exceptionally spirited bidding, a diamond ring, circa 1910, sold for well over double the low estimate at Bonhams New York Jewels sale on May 19, 2021, achieving $500,313 against an estimate of $170,000–270,000.

The oval-shaped, modified brilliant-cut diamond, weighing 8.21 carats, is accented by transitional, single and rose-cut diamonds, and mounted in platinum.diamond ringPicture credit: Bonhams 

In total, the 140-lot sale realized $3,678,685.
