Ruth Tomlinson is an independent British contemporary fine jeweller, creating ethereal jewels with an otherworldly spirit. Transforming often forgotten stories of historic jewels into her signature designs, marked by their tiny granular intricacies and serendipitous imperfections, each piece is as unique as the individual who wears it, inspiring a life-lasting connection between the wearer and their jewels.
As part of her 20 year anniversary celebration in 2021, Ruth Tomlinson presents one of her most decorative collections to date: the Midas collection is updated with reflections of the colour and joy of Eastern travel. Recycled gold is decoratively textured with a specialist stamping technique, using a unique tool unearthed at an antique shop in Kerala.
Peridots and garnets, collected in Sri Lanka, nestle in opulent clusters inspired by the grandeur of Maharaja treasures. Midas celebrates a vivid variety of colours and cuts of stones, including antique diamonds, tourmalines, sapphires, citrines and garnets, reflecting on the rich history of Indian jewels and the sunset tones of its stunning natural surroundings.
