Gary Wroe is elected President of British Allied Trades Federation

June 2018 – The British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) appointed Gary Wroe as President of the Federation at its annual general meeting (AGM) on June 14.

Wroe, Managing Director of Birmingham jewellery manufacturer Hockley Mint, was appointed President of the BATF at the AGM at London’s Goldsmiths’ Hall, having been Vice President of the Federation for the past two years.

In his new role, Wroe’s responsibilities will include working with the Officers and Directors to determine the Federation’s strategic direction.

The elected position runs for two years.

Wroe started working in the casting shop of Hockley Mint as an assistant at the age of 17, gaining experience and climbing the company ladder to become Group Managing Director in 2006.

He has held industry roles including Chairman of the British Jewellers’ Association (BJA), and is currently Deputy Co-Chairman of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ).

On being elected President of the BATF, Wroe said: “I am extremely proud and honoured to become the President of the Federation.

“I am looking to enhance the central service we offer our trade associations and hopefully encourage other trade bodies to join our family.

“The Federation plays an important role in supporting the various associations with IT, HR, financial and administration functions.”
