March 20, 2020 – Rui Galopim de Carvalho, a gemmologist renowned for his talks at trade events, gave a free webinar about the history of emeralds to self-isolating professionals amid the coronavirus crisis.
“My purpose is to entertain myself and you guys while we are self-isolating at home,” Rui, the founder of Portugal Gemas Academy, said during the webinar to an audience of 100 trade participants on March 20th.
He gave the illustrated talk encompassing the origins of emeralds, emeralds in royal jewellery collections and auction sales, and traceability (responsible sourcing), followed by a quiz and a question-and-answer session.
