DUBAI, April 23, 2015 – The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), which promotes Indian gem and jewellery exports, has organised the Indian Pavilion at the first edition of VicenzaOro Dubai (VOD), bringing the latest exceptional Indian jewellery designs to the Middle East market.
Focusing on Indian gem and jewellery exports to the Middle East, the GJEPC collaborated with VOD as an associate partner for the event.
At VOD, taking place from April 23-26, 2015, the Indian Pavilion showcased 98 leading Indian manufacturers and retailers in more than 100 booths, exhibiting a vast array of diamonds, gems and jewellery.
Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman of the GJEPC, said, “The Indian gem and jewellery industry accounted for exports worth US$36 billion in 2014, and the Middle East accounts for 30 percent of India’s gem and jewellery exports.
“The GJEPC is pleased to collaborate with VicenzaOro Dubai and to present an Indian contingent that showcases India’s expertise in gems and jewellery.”
The GJEPC is organising an “India Evening” in association with VOD on April 25 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai.
The “by invitation only” networking evening will host buyers visiting VOD, dignitaries, and domestic and international media.
Dubai has quickly established itself as one of the leading global centres for the trade of gold, diamonds and precious stones.
Dubai is a most suitable destination for the trading of gems and jewellery in the Middle East considering the Emirate’s ideal location between producing and consuming nations and its well-developed infrastructure including world-class cargo facilities, ports and airports.
