Grand Finale IIJW catwalk show presents India’s best jewellery designs
MUMBAI, July 17, 2014 – The Grand Finale of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), spearheaded by brand ambassador and Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, showcased the best designs from India’s leading jewellery houses.
The Grand Finale kicked off on July 17 with Indian models sashaying down the catwalk at the Grand Hyatt showing off standout pieces from Nazraana, part of Rio Tinto Diamonds, which has launched seven exquisitely crafted diamond jewellery collections.
The Nazraana jewels are crafted using genuine natural diamonds and hallmarked 18K and 14K gold or 925 silver, at affordable prices.
Another exciting brand on the catwalk was Saboo Fine Jewels, with its unique collections of modern and Indian ethnic/pearl jewellery.
Saboo Fine Jewels creates styles based on nature and the constantly changing environment of a fast-paced lifestyle.
Among other Indian jewellery houses presenting lines at IIJW, Dipti Amisha’s 2014 line was a standout blend of ethnicity of the vintage Indian contemporary styles and the romanticism of the royal Victorian era.
Signature Designer Alka Kumar of AKS Jewels, Delhi (India), meshes the rich tradition of India with the exquisite and dazzling beauty of diamond jewellery.
Sanjay Kothari, a senior official of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), got onto the stage after the catwalk show to state that IIJW had become an important vehicle to showcase India’s best jewellery design talent to the world.
“We are shouting from the rooftop that India excels at design,” he said.
GJEPC Chairman Vipul Shah said the IIJW presented breathtakingly beautiful collections from India’s leading design houses and individuals.
“IIJW showcases India as a global design destination,” he said.
“This show is for designers to exhibit innovation.”
