IJL 2013 set to dazzle the industry

February 6, 2013

Exciting new plans for International Jewellery London (IJL) 2013 were unveiled at a Champagne reception and launch Party in Birmingham this week – all designed to make IJL’s final show at Earl’s Court, London, the most memorable event in this year’s jewellery calendar.
Event Director, Sam Willoughby, stated: “IJL 2013 is going to be a landmark show for exhibitors and visitors alike. The new initiatives that we’re launching will ensure that the event not only provides a spectacular visitor experience, but also the perfect business and networking environment for our exhibitors. Everything is designed to create maximum visual impact – from the moment of arrival with the stylish new Design Café, to the luxurious central Boulevard and Champagne Bar”.
New initiatives for 2013 include a revitalized catwalk, with three trend focused shows each day styled in conjunction with renowned trend forecasters Adorn Insight; who were revealed as IJL’s prestigious, new trend partner at the reception in Birmingham. There will also be a fantastic VIP Runway launch party, set to be brimming with celebrities and champagne, provided by Thiénot, IJL’s exclusive new champagne partner.
“We are delighted to be aligned with IJL as its official trend partner. We share many synergies when it comes to our vision for the UK jewellery industry and we’re united by a common goal – to see the industry thrive. The timing of our partnership marks a very exciting new chapter in the future of IJL and further endorses the value of trends to the jewellery industry, as well as the continued relevance of our analysis in the context of the end consumer” commented Juliet Hutton-Squire, Co-Director of Adorn Insight.
IJL 2013 will also be teaming up for the first time with the high-profile JCK Show, which is part of Reed Exhibitions’ global portfolio of successful jewellery events, to bring ‘a slice of JCK’ to London. This will include the Best of US Design and some inspirational JCK inspired seminars within the highly regarded, complementary, IJL Seminar programme.
The Boulevard, the focus of glamour, is now almost fully booked, with exciting newcomers such as Carat, Bastian,  Bjorg Design and Gemex adding to the glittering array of 21st century jewellery – with many more new exhibitors to be announced in the coming weeks.
The event is also the showcase for some of the most promising new jewellery stars in the country. Unique to IJL, the Bright Young Gems and Kickstart features are regarded by the industry as two of the shining highlights of IJL.
Both initiatives continue to go from strength to strength, with the successful Bright Young Gems this year being drawn for the first time from regional colleges around the UK, as well as London. The selection will be made by the panel of renowned fashion and jewellery editors, including Vivienne Becker and Hilary Alexander. In the case of Kickstart, the work of ten outstanding new talents will be on display – one of whom will be chosen by the industry using social media, through the newly-launched ‘People’s Choice’ Award.
“IJL 2013 is also about thanking all our exhibitors and visitors for not only their loyalty and support over the past years, but also their tremendous help in making the show the premier jewellery industry event. As part of this, we are hosting a very special exhibitors’ party at the event that will no doubt rock the rafters – to mark our departure from Earl’s Court in true IJL style, as well as provide a fitting tribute to a stunning show in 2013,” Sam Willoughby revealed.

IJL 2013 will run from 1 – 4 September 2013 at Earls Court, London
