    LONDON, March 14, 2013 –  IJL’s Editor’s Choice initiative has opened for 2013 entries, and is set to recognise some of the most creative, outstanding new jewellery launches.
    It draws attention to designers and brands creating innovative, eye-catching and commercial collections. The winning pieces will all be on show at the event this September 1-4.
    Judged by jewellery and luxury writer and consultant Claire Adler, IJL exhibitors can enter via the IJL website at www.jewellerylondon.com/editor. There are four categories, designed to highlight pieces which excel in terms of Commercial Vision, Visual Impact, Originality and Technical Excellence.

    “Editor’s Choice is a real show favourite,” said Event Director Sam Willoughby.
    “Buyers and visitors benefit from seeing exciting pieces tipped as some of the best new launches on the market, and the winning companies are always thrilled with the resulting media coverage and industry acclaim.”
    One of last year’s winners – Martina Hamilton, a first time IJL exhibitor, was delighted with her win and secured national and international business deals.
    “The awareness of our brand, supported by the Editor’s Choice initiative, was enormously encouraging, as was the solid commercial reaction to our jewellery. Amongst the orders secured, we were particularly happy to supply The Steensons in Belfast,” Martina said.
    “The award-winning piece was also featured in the national branding for the new Jewellery Hall at Arnotts in Dublin, so I think the vote of confidence in the piece at IJL was prophetic.
    “As a result of the show and the additional profiling, we saw a major boost to our sales – we’re already rebooked for IJL 2013.”
    Two times Editor’s Choice winner, Andrew Geoghegan, has gone from strength to strength since returning to IJL after five years off: “Since returning to IJL in 2011 my business growth has been exceptional! It’s great to catch up with established clients at the show and the timing is perfect for us.
    “The Editor’s Choice recognition was a brilliant way to start the show and I am under no illusion that it was instrumental in selling the very piece that won the award.”
    The deadline is May 10th 2013. The winning exhibitors and their pieces will be unveiled ahead of the show.
