Increased vigilance but no direct threats around Antwerp diamond district
ANTWERP, January 11, 2015 – Following the events taking place in Paris, the Antwerp police authorities have decided to deploy additional police squads in and around the Antwerp diamond district.
Currently the threat level in the city remains unchanged, but due to the events of the past week, additional means are being put out.
The local Antwerp police is in direct contact with the AWDC Security Office.
For the moment there are no direct or indirect threats against the diamond district nor the diamond community.
However, local authorities request that people are extra vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
