India International Jewellery Week held in New Delhi on April 12-13

NEW DELHI, April 2013 – After three successful years in Mumbai, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), as part of its efforts to promote India as an international innovation and design destination for jewellery, inaugurated the first Delhi edition of India International Jewellery Week at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
With 17 brands and designers showcasing the best of design in gems and jewellery through 14 glittering shows, IIJW in its first New Delhi edition delivered grandeur and glamour and the finest in designs, style and trends.

This year’s participants include an impressive line up of leading Indian brands such as Gitanjali Gems, Kays Jewels, Birdichand Ghanshyamdas, PC Jewellers, Bholasons, Nazraana by Rio Tinto, RK Jewellers, Hazoorilal, CVM Exports and Charu Jewels.
Designers such as Rosily Paul, Monica Kapoor, and Pooja Joneja showcased their collections.
The event was inaugurated by Bollywood’s stylish Diva, Sonam Kapoor, GJEPC’s brand Ambassador, along with Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC, Mr. Sanjay Kothari, Convener of Promotions, Marketing & Business Development, GJEPC as well as other officials and dignitaries.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “It is a prestigious moment for all of us at the council to be hosting the IIJW for the first time in New Delhi.
“With the tremendous success of three editions of India International Jewellery Week in Mumbai, the stage is now set to grow much bigger and with our foray into India’s style capital, New Delhi, we will showcase the exceptional talent and craftsmanship of the designers from this region’’.
