India’s IIJS show in August to prioritise export sector
MUMBAI, May 29, 2018 – The India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), taking place in Mumbai from August 9-13, will prioritise Indian gem and jewellery exports, organisers said.
It will include a special preview on August 8 for select international buyers, the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) said in a statement.
“The IIJS in the last three and a half decades has evolved as Asia’s leading jewellery trade fair,” said Pramod Agrawal, GJEPC Chairman.
“IIJS 2018 will showcase the best jewellery collections crafted by over 1,300 of the country’s leading manufacturers. The focus this year will be on providing support to exporters,” he added.
“The flagship show also demonstrates that India’s jewellery manufacturing has come of age and is widely acclaimed as a reliable and competitive source for retailers and consumers from across the world.”
The IIJS predicts total domestic and international footfall of around 40,000 people this year, organisers said.
The show will expand with 800 new booths in Hall 7A.
