India’s Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) sent senior representatives to the signing of the India-UK free trade deal on July 24, 2025, which featured a display of winning jewellery pieces from India’s 2025 Artisan Awards and collections from British Indian jeweller PureJewels.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi signed the free trade deal with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
The multi-billion pound deal between India and the UK will make it cheaper and easier to buy and sell goods and services.
Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the GJEPC, was present at the celebration of the signing of the deal, which will make Indian jewellery cheaper to export to the UK.
Six winning jewellery pieces from the 2025 Artisan Awards, organised by GJEPC, were on show at the signing event at Chequers, the country house of the UK Prime Minister, northwest of London.
PureJewels CEO, Jayant Raniga was the UK’s GJEPC representative at the event, which also displayed PureJewels jewellery collections.
