London DE Group, a sustainably focused commodities business, has announced a new venture in Australia, contributing to the development of a gold and Rare Earth Elements (REE) processing plant near the mining town of Goulburn in New South Wales.
The project, in partnership with Broula King Enterprises (BKE), will enable processing of gold from existing tailings, followed by the recommissioning of dormant artisanal and small-scale mines across the region.
By combining advanced clean extraction methods with strict ESG principles, the initiative will not only unlock valuable resources but also remediate toxic legacies left by abandoned sites, where arsenic, cyanide, and other pollutants currently threaten ecosystems.

Innovation, sustainability, and community impact
Through its environmental subsidiary Ecotech, BKE is collaborating with Newcastle and Deakin Universities to pioneer highly efficient and responsible extraction technologies. Once restoration and extraction is complete, the land at each site will be returned to its natural state, free from toxic waste. This innovative approach ensures long-term environmental rehabilitation while creating skilled employment
opportunities for local communities.

In a world first for the SME mining sector, machine learning AI will be used to create digital twins of mining sites. This breakthrough technology will identify efficiencies and optimise operations, setting new standards for sustainable mining.
A global vision
“This project is a milestone for London DE Group and reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability across the precious commodities industry,” says Phil Spencer, founder and CEO of London DE Group.
“From Australia to Africa and the Andes, our operations are connected by the same vision: that the sourcing and supply of precious metals and gems can be carried out with purpose.”
Strengthening international presence
To support its growing international portfolio, London DE Group has established a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The office will serve as the head office for the group’s global operations, strategically placed within the DMCC, one of the world’s largest trading hubs for gold and diamonds.
The Group is further strengthening its leadership team with key appointments, including Jen Ashby as Head of Marketing, who will lead London DE’s global brand strategy and communications from Dubai.
