The UK’s longest running and most prestigious jewellery and watch trade awards event, the UK Jewellery Awards, can reveal that radio presenter Toby Tarrant will return as the host for this year’s 30th anniversary ceremony.
Tarrant, who is host of the popular mid-morning show on Radio X which runs from 10am-1pm every weekday, presented the UK Jewellery Awards last year and, following overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests and sponsors, has been invited back for this year’s event, which takes place on September 1, 2022, at the Hilton London Metropole.
Tarrant also steps in to look after the Radio X Breakfast show when Chris Moyles is on holiday, as well as doing the same for Johnny Vaughan on drive-time.
He hosts the popular cricketing podcast Zero Ducks Given, has anchored Yahoo! Sport’s Football Show, and can be found working for Odeon UK, hosting Premiers, and getting the gossip from those walking the red carpet.
Retail Jeweller managing editor Ruth Faulkner said: “We are delighted that Toby has agreed to host the UK Jewellery Awards for the second year running. He was really popular with all our guests last year and we can’t wait to welcome him back to preside over another night of celebration for the UK jewellery and watch industry.
“The awards marks its 30th anniversary this year, which should give everyone an extra special reason to celebrate the achievements of all their friends and colleagues in the trade.”
The UK Jewellery Awards in association with The Betts Group will be held on September 1 at The Hilton London Metropole in central London and will see awards given out in 21 categories spanning everything from design and customer service through to store design and supplier excellence.
In addition to the awards themselves, guests attending the event will also enjoy a three-course meal, wine and post-awards entertainment in the form of a DJ and charity casino.
Alongside headline partner The Betts Group, the UK Jewellery Awards is sponsored by the Company of Master Jewellers, Dimexon, Green Rocks, Hockley Mint, Nivoda, Studex, TH March and WOLF. Redd Retail Group, Rotary, Goodman Bros, Jewellery & Watch, Coeur de Lion and Citizen are supporters of the event and the National Association of Jewellers is the official supporter.
Companies already booked to attend the awards this year include the likes of Beaverbrooks, Signet Jewelers, the Watches of Switzerland Group, Berry’s Jewellers, Harriet Kelsall Bespoke Jewellery, Shaun Leane and Hill & Hill the Jewellers.
