BANGKOK – Thailand’s Gemopolis gems and jewellery manufacturing industrial estate plans to expand its Free Zone areas, its managing director Mr Suttipong Damrongsakul said.
“We are in the process of planning to expand our new Free Zone project, which is scheduled to start construction works in the middle of 2027,” Mr Suttipong told Jewellery Outlook.

“The new project consists of eight buildings (Free Zone 7-14) with a total area of 38,000 SQ.M. Our plan is to complete the whole project in 2031,” Mr Suttipong added.
“The construction for Free Zone 7-10 is scheduled to kick off around June 2027. The total area of these four buildings will be 20,000 SQ.M.”
Gemopolis, located in the outskirts of Bangkok, features many overseas jewellery manufacturers which benefit from tax advantages by operating in the Freezone, where they employ highly skilled Thai craftspeople.

Asked what types of overseas businesses Gemopolis was hoping to attract, Mr Suttipong said: “Gems and jewellery are still our main target, but we plan to explore other businesses such as high technologies, electronics, and medical tools, which are all considered as light industry or ‘non-polluted’.
“For those who are interested to set up their businesses in Gemopolis, they can contact us via our email address info@gemopolis.com or visit our website www.gemopolis.com . We have an in-house professional team ready to support everyone.”
