Venus Jewel sees growth in online sales
SURAT, India, January 8, 2011 – DTC Sightholder Venus Jewel anticipates increased sales of its polished diamonds online as it adheres to strict standards in its specification and processing of gemstones, said Sevanti Shah, Partner of the Surat-based company.

Venus Jewel operates a state-of-the-art factory in Surat, India’s diamonds capital, where stones are assessed, cut and polished using highly skilled staff and the latest machinery.
Venus Jewel’s polished diamonds are sold around the world, with online sales already accounting for almost half of total annual turnover.
“By the end of March 2011 we may have turnover of about $340 million of which 42-45 percent will have been sold online. Online sales are continuing to increase,” Shah told Jewellery Outlook in an interview at Venus Jewel’s factory.
“Ultimately, online sales should go to near to 100 percent.”
Shah was speaking on the sidelines of the January 6-9 Sparkle 2011 trade fair, which showcased the latest products of Surat’s diamond processing and diamond manufacturing companies.

Surat accounts for 8 in every 10 diamonds processed in the world. Venus Jewel is one of Surat’s leading diamond processing companies.
Shah said trust was essential for the success of online sales.
Venus Jewel had established extremely detailed perameters for assessing the quality of diamonds and pricing them accordingly, Shah said.
“We are careful about our stringent standards which we observe,” he said.
