Jewellery & Watch Birmingham boosts ties with UK Trade & Investment
BIRMINGHAM, December 21, 2013 – The parent company of Jewellery & Watch Birmingham, i2i Events Group, has announced an extension of their partnership agreement with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) for 2014, a move which will see an increased focus on supporting exhibitors with their international growth.
As a result of this new agreement, which sees UKTI become i2i Events Group’s International Business Partner, UKTI will now participate in the forthcoming editions of Jewellery & Watch Birmingham in February and will work with i2i Events to deliver even more international buyers to this show.
So far this year, 17,288 international visitors have attended the various exhibitions organised by i2i Events, demonstrating the company’s prominence as one the UK’s premier organisers of international trade shows.
With this new partnership, i2i Events hopes to build on this figure and will work with UKTI to implement specific initiatives aimed at attracting more international visitors to the show.
These include the creation of an International Trade Lounge on the show floor at Spring Fair, where Jewellery & Watch Birmingham takes place, which will house an export theatre showcasing four sessions per day of relevant export content.
Further to this an international buyers’ drinks reception will be held and will work with UKTI to bring the top 50 global jewellery buyers to the event.
The partnership between i2i Events and UKTI primarily aims to inspire and support UK based SMEs in their efforts to succeed internationally and establish a foothold in new markets and capitalise further on existing business opportunities.
Commenting on the partnership Robert Driver, Director of Technology, Innovation & Events at UKTI, said: “We are delighted to announce this strengthening of our partnership with i2i Events Group. We believe that this partnership will bring huge advantages to UK companies in their plans to take their products and services global, and we look forward to working closely with them to achieve their goals.”
Julie Driscoll, portfolio director of Jewellery & Watch Birmingham, added: “i2i has already worked very successfully with UKTI on a number of events and I am delighted that we have been able to strengthen and extend our partnership into 2014.
Jewellery & Watch Birmingham is dedicated to enhancing customer value and proud to open up a world of possibility for the global decision makers who comprise our customers.
This agreement with UKTI will enable us to further support our UK customer base and promote UK business on a global stage.”
