iKuria launches Alchemist’s Notebook collection
LONDON, March 16, 2014 – London-based fine jewellery brand iKuria has announced its new 2014 collection, Alchemist’s Notebook.
The collection is launched with the silver unisex range, Alchemist’s Initial. Its gold and gemstone range will be introduced later in the year.

The collection is inspired by an anecdote about celebrated scientist Sir Isaac Newton.
Sir Isaac Newton is regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time. Most notably, he formulated the laws of motion and universal gravitation. He was a perfectionist. However, he was also devoted to alchemy, which is now repudiated by modern science. Most of his alchemical notes and manuscripts are believed to have been lost in a fire caused by his dog, named Diamond, which kicked over a candle.
“The new collection, Alchemist’s Notebook, is a tribute to Newton. It is also my attempt to restore his lost alchemical work in the form of jewellery. The unisex silver range is specifically called Alchemist’s Initial as it represents the initial i for Sir Isaac and iKuria,” said Ikuko Kurahone, designer and founder of iKuria.

The silver range is available from selected boutiques including Nude Jewellery London in Mayfair, which presents iKuria as the featured designer of March 2014.
