Indian gem, jewels sector to make a big impact at JCK Las Vegas
MUMBAI, May 29, 2013 – The India Gallery at the ‘Shark Reef’ at JCK Las Vegas (May 31 to June 4) will display exquisite jewellery pieces from India, reinforcing the country’s position as a ‘Global Jewellery Hub’.
The India Gallery will showcase exemplary work by Indian designers and brands, that are one of a kind globally. The pieces will be in the categories of mass produced, couture, designer, and gold and silver.
The India Pavilion covers a wide array of fine jewellery products ranging from platinum to gold, diamonds, watches, designer jewellery, antique and estate, bridal jewellery, coloured gemstones, loose diamonds, pearls, etc. and will be visited by jewellery manufacturers, importers, traders and retailers.
The India Pavilion by GJEPC has been a participant at JCK Las Vegas since 2004 and the Indian contingent has grown strongly since then.
“The USA continues to be one of the leading export destinations for India in gems and jewellery,” said Vipul Shah, Chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC.)
“Participation at the JCK show has provided great impetus to the Indian trade in the last decade with manufacturers showcasing designing and production capabilities at an international platform.
“This show is an opportunity to further emphasise India’s growing recognition in the international arena as THE global destination for gems and jewellery.”
India today is a leading centre of the gem and jewellery trade with total exports of US$ 38 million in 2012.
