Israeli diamond industry to have big presence at Hong Kong fair
Ramat Gan, Israel, August 20, 2013 – With 90 exhibitors in the Israel Diamond Pavilion and 30 more throughout the show, the Israeli diamond contingent to this year’s September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will be one of the largest in the show, the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) reports.
To make it easier for buyers to access the goods they are seeking, this year IDI is introducing a computerized database of all the Israeli goods in the pavilion, by exhibitor. Located at the IDI image booth, the facility will enable visitors to specify the goods they want and the computer will point them to the right suppliers among the Israeli exhibitors in the pavilion and elsewhere in the show.
The Israel Diamond Pavilion will be located in Hall 7, 9 and 11 of the Asia World Expo. IDI’s image booth will be located at the heart of the pavilion. In addition to helping to guide buyers, the booth will provide information about the Israeli diamond industry and will register buyers for the IDI portal site.
The September Hong Kong show is a key event for the Israeli diamond industry, which sees Asian markets, led by Hong Kong, as one of its most important long-term growth areas. Hong Kong is Israel’s second largest market for polished diamonds after the United States, representing close to 30% of Israel’s total polished diamond exports.
The September Hong Kong fair is considered one of the top shows for reaching Asian markets, especially since it comes before the important buying seasons of Christmas, Diwali and the Chinese New Year.
