The Jewellery Show London doubles in size this year

LONDON, May 12, 2013 – The Jewellery Show London, a fast-growing trade event for watches and jewellery taking place on June 11-12 at the majestic Somerset House, has doubled in size this year, organisers say.
The event, which will feature 140 exhibitors, will be an invaluable draw to retail buyers because of the superb offering including jewellery brands such as FOPE, The Fifth Season by Roberto Coin, Lalique, and designer Fei Liu, in the showcase setting by the Thames.
“Retailers will come to a two-day event that will have brilliant content. The retailers we know come to buy, come to learn, come to network,” said Portfolio Director Julie Driscoll, adding that 40 percent of the brands are international.

“We’ve scoured Europe to bring some of the very best European brands to the UK market.”
The Jewellery Show London will offer exclusivity, with some brands, such as FOPE and Lalique, not exhibiting at any other show this year.
“We want The Jewellery Show London to grow with the right kind of brands,” Driscoll said.
“Every year we want new brands to get involved in the show. Newness is an important part of what we are doing.”

The Jewellery Show London will stage a VIP Champagne reception at Somerset House from 6 to 8 pm on June 11, a fabulous opportunity to network amongst the elite of brands, retailers and press.
The event is hosting a number of retail buyers, including independent retailers belonging to buying groups Houlden and the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ).
The Watch Salon London

This year The Jewellery Show London is launching The Watch Salon London in conjunction with Retail Jeweller magazine.
This is London’s first dedicated trade-only exhibition for some of the best British and international watch brands.
The Watch Salon London, alongside the jewellery on display at Somerset House, will deliver a luxurious setting for buyers to browse a fantastic line up of mid to high end watch brands.

“We looked at our research after the show last year, in which we had asked retailers what they wanted to see more of,” Driscoll said.
“They said they wanted to see more watches at the show.”
Driscoll added that just 2 percent of UK jewellery retailers go to BASELWORLD, which meant there was plenty of pent-up demand from UK retailers to look at an array of watch and jewellery brands.
“The Jewellery Show London has responded to the need for a watch offering in the UK,” Driscoll said.
“It’s about giving retailers a show where they can come and browse and buy in a relaxed environment.”
Watch brands at The Jewellery Show London will include Seiko, Festina, Kenneth Cole, Ted Baker, Breil, Daniel Wellington, David Mason London, and BQ Watches, among others.

Driscoll said many retailers had emphasised that they favoured June as a perfect time to shop for new brands for their stores, comfortably before the busy onset of orders in shops in the runup to Christmas.
Attendees at The Jewellery Show London will have the opportunity to listen to industry experts discuss hot topics in an exciting seminar programme.
“We wanted to create first class content that is relevant to the retailers – seminars that look at new ways of doing business, how to build their own brand as a jeweller, ‘bricks and clicks’,” Driscoll said.
