The March 2021 edition of Jewelers International Showcase (JIS) is the first major in-person trade event for Reed Exhibitions US, helping to kick off 2021 for the jewelry industry at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with comprehensive health and safety protocols in place.
With over 2,000 retailers in attendance on day one of the show, buyers were eager to restock their inventory with immediate delivery options, a unique feature that JIS is known for.
With very few opportunities in the past year for jewelry retailers to attend a trade event, retail buyer attendance was 38% higher than the JIS January Show in 2019, and 15% of attendee registration consisted of buyers new to JIS events. In addition to retail buyers, attendees include: designers; diamond dealers; pawn brokers; wholesale buyers; distributors; and more.
Exhibitors were thrilled to see the turnout for day one and the show was filled with positive energy, indicating the industry’s excitement to return to face-to-face events.
With 170 exhibitors showcasing the latest trends, new product lines, and a wide variety of gold, fine, and fashion jewelry, buyers at JIS March were appreciative of the one-stop shop opportunity to find everything needed to meet the upcoming spring demand at their stores.
“The majority of the jewelry industry has remained strong through the pandemic and jewelry sales have performed well, which resulted in many buyers jumping at the opportunity to see jewelry in person,” says Jordan Tuchband, Event Vice President of JIS Events.
“We are so pleased that we are able to bring the industry together again to provide in-person networking and business after an unprecedented year, while keeping health and safety top-of-mind for a show experience that was really valuable to everybody,” he continued.
