Leonori Gioielli, Italian fine jewellery, debuts at IJL

London, September 2017 – Leonori Gioielli will be showing for the first time at IJL 2017 (3-5 September) on Stand number A90.
The fine jewellery pieces created by the Italian design house Leonori Gioielli bear all the hallmarks of a master craftsman’s work – beautifully considered design, with gemstones placed with artistic flair and finitely detailed precision. And the final telling Leonori touch is that every single one of these superbly hand crafted, limited edition pieces positively sings with colour. These are pieces of art – beautiful Italian art treasures to be passed down from one generation to the next.
Leonori Gioielli was founded in 1962 in a workshop near Florence by Agostino Leonori. Born in 1930 in Parma, Agostino Leonori left school at the age of nine to follow his dream. Working first as an apprentice to a master goldsmith locally before moving to northern Italy to study under another. He soon discovered his love of colour and began his search for rare and precious emeralds, rubies and sapphires. Today a third generation of jewellers, a whole team of experienced goldsmiths, designers and gemmologists working together under the guidance of Agostino’s sons, follow his same disciplines, applying the knowledge and tradition passed down through the generations.Leonori Gioielli, Italian fine jewellery, debuts at IJL

Many of the complex technical skills used in the workshop are typical of those used by Italian craftsmen in the past. Every detail is perfectly executed to enhance the preciousness of each jewel. After selecting the rarest gems, the creation of each piece begins with a sketch (SCHIZZO) in real size to visualise how the jewel will appear when worn. This is then recreated in a precise detailed drawing (DISEGNO). The next stage (CREAZIONE) calls on the jewellers creativity, sensitivity and dexterity to create the setting in precious metal using the tools of his trade – chisels, saws, files and pliers. Finally, the setter positions the precious stones before the jewel is ready to be polished, with brushes and cotton thread. The jewel is rhodium-plated to enhance all its brilliance. It is this remarkable level of workmanship, breaking the boundaries of traditional design, that gives each piece the Leonori hallmark as illustrated by the following, a snap shot of the collections launching at IJL 2017 in September.

“It is very exciting to bring the Leonori Gioielli Collection to IJL 2017 this September. The intense colours of the gemstones used in our collections are guaranteed to shine in the ambient light of Olympia – an iconic setting well suited to showcase Leonori Gioielli, a collection handcrafted by the finest Italian artisans, polished and perfected over three generations”, comments Cesare Leonori, CEO Leonori Gioielli.
