Moti Ganz Re-elected as IDI Chairman
Ramat Gan, Israel, October 5, 2012 – Moti Ganz was re-elected unanimously as Chairman of the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies (IDI) by its Board of Directors.
Ganz also serves as President of the International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) and Honorary President of Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA).
After being re-elected Moti Ganz said, “I promise to continue to act for the advancement of the Israeli diamond industry.”
He said that his main task this term will be to create a comprehensive 10-year strategic plan for IDI, in order to position the Israeli diamond industry as a global leader in rough and polished diamonds.
During his previous terms as IDI Chairman Ganz has worked tirelessly to support the local industry.
A firm believer in the importance of developing new markets, Ganz has promoted the industry’s marketing efforts into China and India.
During his term IDI opened a representative office in Hong Kong and greatly expanded its trade show presence, organizing Israeli Diamond Pavilions in shows in India, Thailand and China.
Moreover, the number of Israeli exhibitors in key trade shows has grown exponentially.
Through periods of economic uncertainty Ganz has worked with the banks and the government to ensure favorable terms for the industry.
He promoted enhanced cooperation among all actors in the diamond industry – the bourse, the manufacturers and the Diamond Controller.
He has also called for an open dialogue with the DTC and other rough producers in an effort to ensure a constant supply of rough to the industry.
Moti Ganz is the owner of MOTIGANZ DIAMOND GROUP, a worldwide company with manufacturing plants in Israel, China, India and Botswana.
Ganz began his career in the Israeli diamond industry in 1982.
In 1989 he received the Outstanding Exporter Award, and in 1991 became a DTC Sightholder.
A second-generation diamantaire, Ganz has been active in public life in the diamond industry since 1989.
He was President of IsDMA from February 2004 until November 2011, and has been President of IDMA since May 2008.
