The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) will return with its second annual NAJ Summit this summer, offering a subtly revised schedule to enhance the experience of exhibitors and attendees alike.
Due to take place across an extended weekend from June 10-13, 2022, the NAJ has gathered vital feedback about the Summit content, layout, timetable structure and venue to ensure the second edition picks up where 2021 left off. The goal is to make this flagship event an unmissable experience in the jewellery tradeshow calendar.
NAJ President, David Doyle, says: “We had some fabulous feedback from last years’ Summit. Looking ahead, it is about tweaking here and there, so all attendees get the most out of the experience. For a start, it is now going to be held in June, which means attendees can make the most of the venue with its extensive grounds and outdoor courtyard, which we know will be great for networking. We also believe this is also a friendlier time for retailers, which is why you will also see the NAJ Awards joining the programme.”
The new Summit programme and timetable sees the Valuers’ Conference start on the afternoon of Friday, June 10, allowing time for a welcome BBQ before a full day of masterclasses, seminars and workshops on Saturday, June 11. The now one-day Supplier Showcase will benefit from protected time in the Summit calendar on Sunday, June 12, to ensure attendees and retailers have an opportunity to see products and services before the Members’ Gala Dinner, which will incorporate the NAJ Awards for the first time.
Supplier Showcase
This portion of the NAJ Summit 2022 will feature an exclusive group of 20 brands and suppliers. In a change to last year’s debut event, retailers interested in attending the Supplier Showcase can benefit from ‘guest passes’ that forgo access to the Valuers’ Conference and Retail Jewellers’ Congress in favour of a simpler package, including access to the Showcase, a timetable of Better Business seminars and lunch. Gala Dinner tickets and accommodation must be purchased separately.

NAJ Awards 2022
In addition, the NAJ Gala Dinner on the evening of Sunday, June 12, will now host The NAJ Awards, which were previously held during the annual Benevolent Society Ball in December.
NAJ Marketing Director, Ben Massey, adds: “We’re delighted to be introducing The NAJ Awards, supported by Headline Sponsor Nivoda, to the NAJ Summit programme. This is the ideal time for brands, retailers, suppliers and members of the broader jewellery community to get together and celebrate the successes and achievements of others. We also expect this lively Sunday evening event will draw more NAJ retail members to the Staverton Park Hotel, as we also have the Retail Jewellers’ Congress taking place the very next day.”
The seven award categories and nomination guidelines are now available online via naj.co.uk/naj-awards-2022. To stay up-to-date, suppliers, brands and retailers can sign up to the NAJ mailing list. The deadline for nominations is Monday, March 14.
Better Business lectures, workshops and masterclasses will make a welcome return to the NAJ Summit, as inspirational experts impart their knowledge and experience to a receptive audience. For jewellery retailers, the Retail Jewellers’ Congress, hosted by the JET Business Network on Monday, June 13, is an essential date not to be missed. Again, attendees will be provided with a protected and private space to share best practice advice, business challenges and successes, all while listening to a line-up of fantastic speakers.
Returning attendees will also notice a different check-in procedure upon their arrival to the NAJ Summit, with guests now welcomed near the Suppliers’ Showcase area for a streamlined and convenient experience.
