New Zealand jewellery brand ASTRA seeks distributor for UK market
June 3, 2017 – After enjoying strong growth in its home market in New Zealand over the past 12 months, with sales increasing across the board for the brand’s stockists, ASTRA is now looking for a distributor to help replicate this success in the UK.
ASTRA is becoming New Zealand’s fastest growing jewellery brand. In Wellington, ASTRA’s home city, the mayor is shortly set to meet the brand in recognition of being the first Australasian company to perform so powerfully on the world stage. With year-on- year growth of 136% in its home market, the jewellery brand has successfully expanded within the Australian market and has recently launched in Germany and the US.
Speaking about the brand’s plans for international growth, ASTRA’s creative director James Hu said: “We are looking forward to what the future has in store for our brand. The strong demand and rapid growth we have experienced in overseas markets has resulted in ASTRA becoming an upcoming name to watch in the jewellery industry. We are now looking for a local distributor to support our business and maximise the brand’s commercial potential in the UK market.”

Founded in New Zealand in 2013, ASTRA focuses on the special moments in a woman’s life and the jewellery symbolises the stories related to a particular milestone or occasion in her life. The brand’s tagline, “Every One Has a Story” highlights the personalisation concept and special meaning behind every piece of ASTRA jewellery. ASTRA jewellery collections focus on four different types of woman with distinct styles and stories behind each collection.
The brand’s four current collections – Maya, Stella, Freedom and Leda – all include charm pendants, rings, earrings and bangles. Made in a combination of silver and gold plate, retail prices start from £60.
ASTRA won the CMJ’s Dragon’s Den contest earlier this year, winning the most votes from CMJ retailers as the most commercial jewellery brand on show at the Company of Master Jeweller’s Spring trade event and exhibited for the first time at Inhorgenta Munich in February. ASTRA is also exhibiting at JCK Vegas this year (stand B5155) as part of the brand’s focus on international expansion.
