Rare vivid orange diamond goes on tender
LONDON, October 14, 2010 – Namakwa Diamonds, a diamond resource group focused on Southern Africa, said that it had this week recovered from its mining operations in the North West Province of South Africa an exceptionally rare 7.53ct Vivid Orange and a 26.74ct D Type IIa diamond both with flawless potential.
Both diamonds were recovered from operations on the South East Node, which has recently completed its ramp-up phase to full production, and will be placed with Namakwa Diamonds’ tender in Johannesburg, which opened on 13 October 2010.
Commenting on the stones, Namakwa’s Head of Sales & Trading Heno Kruger said, “We are experiencing tremendous interest from all diamond centres for our October tender.
“These two stones highlight the quality of the resource that we are mining on the South East Node in the North West Province.”
