BIRMINGHAM, England, August 7, 2011 – Designer Fei Liu plans to invite 10 UK designers to exhibit in his outlet at the Xin Guang Palace department store in Beijing in the first two weeks of November, to showcase UK design talent in the Chinese market.
“We are in the process of selecting designers and have received many applicants,” Fei Liu, renowned for bringing together Western and Eastern influences, told Jewellery Outlook at a Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) meeting at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
“We want to represent British talent and creativity, because in the Chinese market the French and Italians have done wonderful marketing and this is why both countries are doing extremely well in the luxury market,” the designer said of the initiative which will be staged in collaboration with the British Jewellery, Giftware and Finishing Federation (BJGF).
Birmingham, England-based Fei Liu, who has many clients for bespoke pieces, has been active in the Chinese market for more than two years and sees enormous potential there.
